Throughout the year we provide literacy screenings to day care centers and preschools as well as host various open house events for individuals of all ages. Mindy, Lead Speech & Language Assistant
"My job is very fulfilling to me, knowing that I can use my talents to make a difference. When we can do this kind of work, work is not always work and life is rewarding."
I believe I became involved in Special Education because I have always found myself drawn to kids who society would lead us to believe as not as valuable. Learn More about Mindy. |

Learning to communicate is the foundation from which we help children’s’ success at Heartspring. It is also the foundation from which we built our legacy. Our mission began in 1934 at the University of Wichita’s Department of Speech Sciences, then evolved to the Institute of Logopedics and continues today as Heartspring, yet always we have been at the forefront of innovative special education methods. Our roots in speech and language therapy and hearing services lend a great deal of power to our successful contributions to the treatment of other conditions. To learn to live, a child must understand and be understood.
