One look around the Heartspring campus and you’ll see the holiday spirit is here. Thanks to many volunteers, Heartspring is shining bright as Lights on the Lake is in full swing. We are thankful for the generosity of many as they selflessly donated their time and gifts to delight the children at Heartspring. And once again our hearts were warmed at the annual holiday program featuring the Heartspring School students. It is the most wonderful time of the year.

Outcomes

Over 250 people helped raise almost $28,000 for children with special needs at the Lights on the Lake Preview Party, November 16. Guests enjoyed food, drink, entertainment by the Heartspring Choral Sensations and a special performance by Lights on the Lake spokeschild, Robbie.

The Lights on the Lake Drive Thru is now open for light enthusiasts to enjoy. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. The Lights on the Lake Hospitality Center will also be open December 14-16 and December 21-23 for hot drinks, holiday treats and photos with Santa for a $3 donation.

International Cafe

Parents from across Kansas met on the Heartspring campus December 4 as the CARE (Community of Autism Resources and Education) Program at Heartspring hosted its inaugural event, the International Café – Exploring the “World of Autism”. Learn more about CARE.

Twas The Night Before Christmas
Holiday ProgramThe students at the Heartspring School entertained an enthusiastic audience as they performed A Holiday Fantasy: ‘Twas the Night before the Holidays, December 12 in the Heartspring Conference Center. Directed by music specialist Verlene Warner, students danced, sang and participated in skits based on the popular poem ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. View our photo gallery.

Heartspring Team

MelanieMelanie has witnessed many extraordinary gifts of both time and money from members of the community. “The most inspiring experience I’ve had at Heartspring involved a boy named David from Mulvane Middle School. He bought several boxes of candy canes and sold them at school for a quarter each, raising a total of $58.50. That kind of selflessness and generosity from a twelve-year-old boy was so inspiring.” Learn more about Melanie.

From the President

Gary W. Singleton, Ph.D.Often the holidays offer a time to reflect upon the year coming to an end. This year has brought many gifts to the children of Heartspring; gifts of progress, success and hope, with a few miracles sprinkled in between. Because of you we are helping more children from more places around the world achieve amazing things. From the Heartspring family to yours, Happy Holidays.
