A Proud History - 1950's

1950
Comedian Jack Benny and his NBC Radio Show cast did a benefit show in Wichita for the Institute.
1952
With the help of a $10,000 donation from Sigma Alpha Sorority to construct testing booths, the Institute significantly expanded its audiological services.
1958
The Institute of Logopedics celebrated its Silver Anniversary. Helping with the festivities were Fred Waring and the Youth Pennsylvanians and silent film star Buddy Rogers.
1959
Dr. Palmer used as his personal Christmas card a design made by an Institute student. That marked the beginning of the Holiday Greeting Card Project, which today continues to be an important fundraising and public relations project.
